“Hope lies in dreams, in imagination and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams into reality” …….Dr Jonas Salk

At Pluristem  it is our endeavor to use our imagination and scientific expertise for the advancement of stem cell-based research and therapeutics

OUR MISSION

Pluristem´s goal is to apply innovative approaches of protein delivery- protein expression combined with bioluminescent imaging techniques for expansion of non-embryonic human stem cells and tracking of transplanted stem cells for both research and therapeutic purposes. Cell transplantation is the use of functional human cells to replace cells that have been lost or damaged due to disease. Cell transplantation is frequently applied in the new clinical field known as  “Regenerative Medicine”

This approach will also be applied to differentiate stem cells into specific cell lineages such as pancreatic Beta cells or neurons  for the treatment of diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases. Pluristem will derive cells from non-human embryonic stem (nhES) cells and then expand them ex-vivo. This approach  holds promise to solve the two most critical problems in Cell Transplantation; immune rejection and a lack of sufficient cells to treat patients in need. Immune rejection is the tendency of the body’s immune system to reject transplanted organs or cells that come from different individuals. The use of non embryonic human stem cells  circumvents the ethical problems associated with the use of embryonic human stem cells.

To accomplish its goals Pluristem has three key proprietary technologies which form the basis for it´s three  research product lines PluriportTM for protein delivery, PlurifectTM for gene delivery and PluritrackTM stem cell lines for bioluminescent imaging of transplanted cells.
